Studio Job

Studio Job founded in 1997 by Job Smeets (the Netherlands, 1969) and Nynke Tynagel (the Netherlands, 1977). Job Smeets graduated at the Design Academy Eindhoven, the Netherlands (1995). Studio Job works on the border of design and fine arts, creating unique pieces, limited editions, installations, interiors and assignments for public space.

Collaborations with: Droog Design, B&B, Bisazza, Hello Kitty, l’Oréal France (perfume bottles), Moooi (paper furniture), Prada, Royal Tichelaar Makkum (ceramics), Swarovski (Charm Chandelier, and Fashion Rocks 2005), Viktor & Rolf (Charm Chain, and Insects for Winter Collection 2004/2005). In 2004 Studio Job designed the exhibition interior of ‘Vikings’ at the Centraal Museum Utrecht.

Solo exhibitions: ‘Biscuit, Still Life and Paper Collection’ within the permanent collection of Oriental Applied Arts, Groninger Museum, 2006-2007; Vivid Rotterdam, 2004; ‘Oxidized’ Groninger Museum, 2003/2004. Products of Studio Job have been exhibited at design fairs and group exhibitions all over the world.

Permanent museum collectors are among others: Groninger Museum (NL); Centraal Museum Utrecht (NL); Guggenheim Berlin (G); FNAC Paris (F); GEMuseum The Hague (NL); Boijmans Van Beuningen Rotterdam (NL); Stedelijk Museum ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NL).
