Hannes Wettstein (1958-2008) was born in Ascona, Switzerland.
In 1987 - 89 he developed the stacking chair `Juliette' and the table `Ludwig' and the seat `Caprichair' for Baleri Italia; in 1991 he developed Audio instruments for Revox and watch- collection for Ventura, Wangen/ Switzerland and in 1994 the chair `Bill' for Baleri Italia; Lightingsystem `Cyos' for Belux, Wo hlen/ Switzerland, 1995.
Has been teaching at ETH Zürich/ Switzerland since 1991 and since 1994 professor at the Hochschule für Gestaltung, Karlsruhe/ Germany. Awards: 1993: Design Award `Dupont' Germany for `Caprichair'; 1994: first prize `Offentliche Uhren in der Stadt Frankfurt', Germany; `Industry Forum Design Award', Hannover, Germany; `Good Design', Chicago/ USA.
