Mi-Ah Rödiger's (Düsseldorf, Germany, 1981) designs come from a deeply felt desire to shut the world down at times. Reducing the current excess of impulses by temporarily disabling or isolating the senses. This approach enables the jewelry to complement the body. Rödiger's attention to the eyes, nose or ears is not merely aimed at functional aspects but also focussing on their specific forms. As a direct reference to the essence of her investigation, these formal aspects play a leading role in her designs.
Mi-Ah studied jewellery design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam (NL). She graduated and was nominated for the GRA Awards in Applied Arts in 2010. Her work has since been on display at various national and international exhibitions. She currently works and lives in Amsterdam.
