Ruudt Peters was born in Naaldwijk, the Netherlands in 1950. He lives and works in Amsterdam. Studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam from 1970-1974. From 1990 to the present teacher and coordinator of the Gold- and Silversmithing department of the Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam.
1993 and 1995 nominations Rotterdam Design Award. Exhbitions include: 'Mentalitäten, Niederländisches Design. Premierte Arbeiten des
Designpreises Rotterdam 1993-1995'(Bremen, 1995/96) and 'Jewellery in Europe and America, New Times, New Thinking' (Crafts Council Gallery, London 1996). Various publications about his work (which he published on his own account): 'Passio'(1992), 'Ouroboros'(1995) and 'Lapis'(1997).
Public assignments include: balustrade for houses in Amsterdam and
balustrade for apartment building in Amstelveen. Jewelry in collections of
: Schmuckmuseum, Pforzheim; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Danner Stiftung, Munich; Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Montreal; the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum New York, and other museums.
