Lives and works as a gallery owner and jewellery designer in Tielrode near Antwerp. Owner of Gallery Sofie Lachaert, Tielrode a nd Sofie Lachaert Editions, Gent. Guest curator of exhibitions in galleries and museums. Former teacher at the Royal Academy in Antwerp, now at the Municipal Academy for Fine Arts St.Niklaas.
Her work was exposed a.o. at the Museum voor sierkunsten Gent, the IIIi?me Triennale du Bijo u, Musée des arts Décoratifs, Paris and 'Table de fin de siècle', Museum het Kruithuis, 's-Hertogenbosch.
