Frank Tjepkema was born in Geneva in 1970. He studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven and the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, where he completed second stage Free Design. He works as a designer in Amsterdam and has lectured in conceptual design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven since 1999.
2001: nominated for Rotterdam Design Prize.
Tjepkema has produced designs and products for Oilily, Present Time, Pirelli, Droog Design, O'Neill Europe, Kessels Kramer, Randstad Uitzendbureaus, Rado and Swatch Group.
Noteworthy designs for Droog Design: Artificial Bloom Construction Set (1996), Artificial Plant (1996) and Do Create, Do Break, Kessels Kramer (2000).
