KONSTANTIN GRCIC - HEADPHONE

Konstantin Grcic's products are archetypal and minimalist, yet also humanistic. A few years ago, he designed the simple necklace 'Moon Walk' for 'Chi ha paura…?' - a strip of soft, transparent PVC, on which song lyrics were printed. 'Headphone' refers to youth culture and music.

Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich in 1965. He set up his agency 'Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design' in his native city in 1991. Grcic studied at Parnham College, England and the Royal College of Art in London.
He has designed furniture, products and lighting for companies like Authentics, Cappellini, ClassiCon, Driade, Flos, IItala, SCP, Whirlpool and Wireworks, and has produced exhibition designs and other architectonic commissions. Many of his designs have won awards and the Mayday lamp he created for Flos has been included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Grcic won the 1999 competition to design the layout of a square in London's Canary Wharf and was Guest of Honour in October 2000 at the Kortrijk Interior Biennale, Belgium, where a major exhibition was held of his work. He designed the trophy for the Contractworld Award, Deutsche Messe AG, Hanover, in 2002.
