MARTl GUIXÉ - GOLD KEY 4$ Martí Guixé is a product designer who focuses on the well-being of people. He has designed several food systems and the Techno-Tapas 'SPAMT' Bar in Barcelona, and likes to think of himself as a 'techno-gastrosopher'. His playful designs, suggestions and ideas display the designer's commitment to social and ecological issues. This gold jewel for the keyboard refers to the ideology of the new economy. 'Jewellery as a concept is a kind of old-fashioned prosthesis with which to increase and/or manipulate your own aura.' Martí Guixé was born in 1964 and works in Barcelona. He studied Interior Design in Barcelona and Industrial Design at the Scuola Polytecnica di Milano. He presents lectures and workshops internationally. Prizes: INFAD Interior Design Medal 1985; Barcelona Design Prize 1999. His best-known design is the 'Flamp' (1998) - a fluorescent plastic lamp based on a piece by his idol Philippe Starck. Guixé has designed products for Authentics, Galeria H2O (Barcelona) and Möve, and interiors for the Camper shoe shops in London (1998), Barcelona (1998), Milan (temporary store: 10.03.2000) and New York (2000).
